Comets Pull Off Fantastic Comeback to Progress in KOC
Sat 27 Apr 2013 by Press Office
Workington fans will be pinching themselves with the dominant display their Comets showed tonight
Trailing 35-55 from a first leg thrashing at Ipswich on Thursday the Comets (with guests for Rich Lawson and Chris Mills) went straight for the jugular of the Witches from the off, rattling off 6 heat advantages to close the gap from 20 points down to 4 points.

The crowd played their part shouting and encouraging their riders when needed and it all ended in celebration in Heat 14 when Kyle Howarth led home a superb Comets victory meaning they now meet Somerset in the next round.

Praise has to go to Micky Dyer whose 5 ride paid maximum made sure the absence of Chris Mills wasn't too big an issue and Craig Cook deputised for the injured skipper Rich Lawson to score big points as well.

Micky Dyer 12+3, Craig Cook 12+1, Rusty Harrison 11+1, Rene Bach 10+1, Kyle Howarth 8+2, Tero Aarnio 7+1, Ashley Morris 1.

Ben Barker 11, Ritchie Hawkins 4, Rohan Tungate 4, Morten Risager 4, Leigh Lanham 4, Cameron Heeps 2, Adam Ellis 0.
