Starting this Monday at Belle Vue
SWINDON have moved to sign Comet Kyle Howarth as doubling-up rider and he will make his debut for the side at his local club Belle Vue on Monday.
Kyle has joined the Robins as a replacement for Polish rider Kacper Gomolski, whose recent form has been a cause for concern and he has missed the last two matches due to an ankle injury.
It is another opportunity for Kyle to ply his trade, and gain further experience,in the top-flight of British speedway having started the season with parent club Poole before they made changes due to the injury suffered by Darcy Ward.
Swindon boss Alun Rossiter said: “I thought Kyle had done really well at Poole and I was a bit surprised he didn't go back there. I've seen him have double-figure scores in the Elite League so we know what he can do.
“We keep hearing about how we should ‘back the Brits' so there you go – we've got another Brit on board along with the great promise that Ashley Birks is showing.
“Kyle will be in for us at Belle Vue on Monday and then we have Wolverhampton at home on Thursday and Lakeside away on Friday so it will be a busy start for him!”
Comets owner Laura Morgan added: "We know how disappointed Kyle was to lose his place at Poole when they changed their team following the injury to Darcy Ward and he became an innocent victim of what was a 'numbers game'. This will give him more meetings, more experience and also keep him sharp between Workington fixtures, which will remain his priority."
