Kyle Howarth has been named in the Team GB side for the Ben Fund season opener at Leicester.
Comets rider Kyle Howarth has been named by new Team GB boss Alun Rossiter as one of his team members for the season opening Ben Fund Bonanza, which this year takes place at Leicester on Sunday 9th March, starting at 2:00pm.
This sees Team GB take on the Rest of the World over 13 heats and is Roscos's first match in charge of the national side, but even at this early stage of the season riders will be keen to impress their new boss as they have one eye on July's Speedway World Cup competition.
The Great Britain team is captained by current World Champion Tai Woffinden, with the remainder of the side featuring fellow Grand Prix rider Chris Harris along with Ben Barker, Lewis Bridger, Richie Worrall and West Cumbria-based former Comet Craig Cook.
Manger Alun Rossiter said: “I think the team we will be tracking has potential, it has a bit of youth and a bit of experience."
Meanwhile, Comets team manager Tony Jackson added: "I think this is great news for Kyle and for the Comets.
"Of course Kyle rode for Rosco at Swindon in the latter half of last season and Rosco obviously recognised his undoubted talent and also saw the potential that he possesses.
"Meetings such as this, as well as raising money for a really great cause, will provide valuable experience for Kyle as he makes the next step up in his speedway career."
