NEW COMETS SEASON GETS UNDERWAY THIS WEEKEND
The Comets 2014 season gets underway with the annual pre-season ‘Meet the Riders and Management Forum' this Friday evening (14th March) in Workington's Waverley Hotel starting at 7:30pm.

This will give the Comets supporters the opportunity to meet the 2014 Comets team and ask any questions of the riders and management ahead of the new season, which gets underway on Saturday 22nd March when the Comets entertain the Newcastle Diamonds in the first leg of the Ian Thomas Shield.

All of the 2014 Comets will be in attendance at the forum with the exception of Kyle Howarth, who has to attend the Coventry Press and Practice on that day, however Kyle will rejoin his Workington team-mates the next day (Saturday 15th March) when the Comets get a chance to blow off their winter cobwebs at Derwent Park as they stage their own Official Press & Practice session.

This will get underway with interviews with local media outlets and the official photo-call at approximately 11:15am after which the riders will take to the track to get some laps under their belts at around 12:15pm, with practice expected to last right through until approximately 2:30pm.

The public will be admitted to the Derwent Park Grandstand from around 12 noon onwards for a donation towards the new Air Fence fund, and the supporters will be able to see the now mandatory air fence in place for the very first time at the Press & Practice session.
