The Comets have named Ulrich Ostergaard as their guest for both of this weekend's Play-off fixtures against Berwick.
With current Comets number one Josh Grajczonek still recovering from the operation to plate his broken left collarbone the Comets have turned to an ex-Comet to fill the number one berth this weekend for the away fixture at Berwick's Shielfield Park on Saturday (7:00pm start) and the return fixture at Derwent Park on Sunday (7:30pm start).
Ulrich Ostergaard, who previously joined the Comets mid-way through the 2007 season as a replacement for the injured Carl Stonehewer (who had picked up a back injury at Edinburgh) proved to be a very popular signing for the Comets at the time, with his never-say-die style of racing soon winning over the fans.
Comets team manager Tony Jackson, who was team manager in 2007 when Ostergaard joined the club, said: "Ulrich has always been an out and out racer and it is no secret that the club would have liked him back after 2007 but unfortunately being a weekend track did not fit in with all of his other commitments.
"Nevertheless, we are delighted that he can help us out this weekend in our remaining play-off matches against Berwick, which are also doubling up for the Border Trophy that will go to the aggregate winners over the two matches against the Bandits.
"Ulrich has been in fine form for Peterborough this season, particularly over the past month or so, and he has raised his average by more than a point this year so we are sure that he will be the perfect replacement for Josh for these two matches."
