Rene Bach to miss Monarchs clash!

The Comets will have to race their last home league fixture of the season against Edinburgh without their skipper Rene Bach.
Rene will be missing from the Comets side that entertains the Premier League's Play-off and KO Cup Finalists Edinburgh on Saturday night at Derwent Park due to the re-arranged final of the FIM World Speedway League, which takes place at Zielona Gora in Poland on Saturday night.
Unfortunately for the Comets, Rene will be wearing the colours of his Danish club, Esbjerg, when they take on the 2013 champions of Britain, Sweden and Poland on Saturday night.
The meeting was originally due to take place on Sunday 31st August, which is why Rene (Esbjerg) and Josh (Poole) were missing from our league visit to Scunthorpe. Unfortunately that meeting at Zielona Gora was rained off and it has now been re-scheduled for this coming Saturday (18th October) and, as it is an FIM event, it takes precedence over a British Premier League fixture.
The Comets will be allowed a facility (Rider Replacement) to cover Rene's absence and, as number two in the current Comets averages, it means that every Comet is eligible to take one of his rides.
Meanwhile, we are waiting to hear how Josh is getting on this week as he is due to see his consultant following his broken collarbone, although it is unlikely that he will be fit to return to the track this coming weekend.
In his absence the Comets can utilise a guest at number one, although the option of using a guest for Rene and Rider Replacement at number one is also open to the Comets. At present the identity of the guest is still to be confirmed.
Comets team manager Tony Jackson said: "Naturally this is not an ideal situation to be in, with our top two riders missing when we entertain table-toppers Edinburgh but it just seems to be the way that our luck has gone this year. However, at this stage of the season the fixture must be ridden and that's that so we have to simply get on with it as the league table has to be completed and there are stiff financial penalties for clubs that fail to complete their fixtures.
"We will as always recruit the best guest available, while the rider replacement facility will give an extra outing to four of our side. Hopefully we can confirm exactly who our guest will be tomorrow (Tuesday)."
