The Comets line-up at Glasgow will have a new reserve pairing as Joe Jacobs and Simon Lambert will be competing at the re-staged National League Fours at Coventry that afternoon.
Joe Jacobs (Mildenhall) and Simon Lambert (Kent) will be racing for their National League sides in this Shared Event, which was rained off back in early August; so it will be two guest riders occupying the reserve berth for the Comets in their last fixture of 2014.

So, with Peterborough's Ulrich Ostergaard already riding as a guest at number one, the Comets side will have a total of three guest riders when they take on the Tigers at Ashfield.

Coming in to replace Joe Jacobs (4.07) will be Berwick's Swedish rider Alex Edberg (3.84) whilst Simon Lambert can only be replaced by a National League rider (3.00) - although with 32 of them already in action at Coventry there aren't too many left to choose from!

Comets team manager Tony Jackson said: "We have known there was always going to be a problem with a clash of dates with the NL Fours but, to be honest, with the situation Glasgow are in with rained off fixtures it was simply a case of this date or nothing as we enter the last week of the season.

"We have a couple of options open to us for our last guest rider and we can hopefully confirm his identity within the next 24 hours. We did have one sorted out, however an injury to another rider may mean that he is now required to compete in the NL Fours; so we will just have to see what happens in the next day or so when the situation becomes clearer.

"Glasgow are also requiring guests for this match - as many teams do at this stage of the season, by which time the sport seems to run out of riders to cover injuries due to riders generally being worn out, injured themselves or, in the case of overseas riders, they may have packed their equipment away for the year and left the country if their team's fixtures are all completed!

"But, we are very grateful to Berwick and to Alex Edberg for agreeing to help us out, and for Alex it will be good practice for him because Berwick are racing against the Tigers in the second match of the double-header (in an outstanding League Cup group fixture) after we have completed our own Premier League match."
