Mason reports a marked improvement after surgery.
Following successful surgery last Thursday to stabilise the collarbone, Mason has reported that he is feeling more comfortable by the day. His collarbone, which was broken in three places, has been fixed with metalwork.

Having carefully and sensibly weighed up the situation, Mason has backed out of the Aussie Finals. Although this is a huge blow for him, he is taking the whole of January out and the plan is to have some track time in Australia during February before he flies back to the UK in EARLY March.

Comets Owner Laura Morgan said: "I know how much Mason was looking forward to riding back home and this has been a big decision for him. But, obviously I am pleased and relieved that he has come to a sensible conclusion and for that I have nothing but admiration for him. He believed he could do something in the Finals and to crash out only weeks after getting home has been a cruel blow. Hopefully it will be a fully fit Mason that lands back on UK soil next year."
