Nathan Greaves has been forced to pull out of the Comets two away fixtures at Edinburgh and Glasgow this weekend following a heavy crash at Cradley (Birmingham) last night that left him very battered and bruised.
This came only three days after another big crash at Mildenhall on Sunday in the British under-21 semi-final, which left him with a hand injury.
Glasgow's Victor Palovaara (pictured above) will ride as a guest in place of Nathan Greaves at Armadale tomorrow (Friday) evening - start time 7:30pm.
In last Friday's 'Spring Trophy' at the same track Palovaara scored 10 points from six rides at reserve, which included two race wins.
Palovaara has a 3.00 average, which is the same as Nathan Greaves average, and last season he would have been ineligible to guest for a seventh ranked average rider - however the rule was changed at last winter's AGM so that all riders can be replaced by guests. This was because replacing the seventh rider with a 'NL Guest' was deemed to be weakening teams, and the product for the paying public, through no fault of their own; and as NL riders were now undergoing many more commitments, partially due to the 'fast track' system than had previously been the case.
Additionally, owing to the geographical location of NL riders and NL clubs, the northern teams were seen to be at a considerable disadvantage under the previous system.
Sunday's guest in place of Nathan against Glasgow up at Ashfield will be Redcar's Polish reserve Rafal Konopka, who is also on a 3.00 average.
