Long-serving Comet Rusty Harrison is currently in hospital at Carlisle following a high speed crash in his final ride at Derwent Park on Saturday evening.
The crash occurred on the third lap of heat 14 when Rusty, who was lying third at the time, clipped the second bend air fence and was thrown heavily from his machine.

After treatment at the track Rusty was then tranfeerd to a County Ambulance and taken off to hospital.

At present we have no further news as to Rusty's condition, but we will post it online when we find out any further information.

The Comets went on to defeat Edinburgh by a 50 - 40 scoreline in their League Cup clash but, in the meantime, we are sure that everyone will want to send Rusty their very own Get Well thoughts.
