Comet Kyle Howarth suffered run-off heartbreak yesterday evening in the Czech Republic at the World under-21 Championship qualifying round in Pardubice; when he missed out on a place in the three-round final of the World under-21 Championship.
Kyle, the 2015 British under-21 Champion, finished his five qualifying rides on 10 points and was tied for the fifth and final qualifying place with Somerset's young Australian rider Brady Kurtz, who had recovered from picking up just one point from his two opening rides to win his next three outings.

Unfortunately for Kyle, Brady Kurtz continued his winning streak by defeating him in the run-off to claim a place in the final while for Kyle it meant the end of the road for his under-21 title dreams; because this year was his last opportunity to compete for the title as he will be too old next season.

However, Kyle still has the under-21 World Team Cup to look forward to later in the season, where he is once again expected to lead the British side in the competition.
