The Comets tough visit to Somerset this evening has just got tougher following the news that skipper Rene Bach is too ill to ride this evening!
Already missing reserve duo Nicki Barrett and Nathan Greaves through injury the Comets have been further weakend today by the illness to Rene Bach.

Rene took ill towards the end of his Danish fixture on Wednesday evening after which he spent all day in bed yesterday.

Nevertheless he flew into the UK this morning and is now heading to his Newcastle base. Hopefully, after another 24 hours, he will be fit enough to race tomorrow evening when Ipswich come visiting Derwent Park in search of Premier League points. However, if that is the case, then his return to action must still be sanctioned by the BSPA Management Committee tomorrow as he has missed a meeting (tonight) through a non-speedway related reason.

The Comets have Rye House's Dan Greenwood as a guest in place of Nicki Barrett this evening, while Cradley's Matt Williamson rides in place of Nathan Greaves.

With the Rebels currently sitting on top of the Premier League table it promises to be a tough night for co-promoter Steve Whitehead, who is tonight's team manager, as the depleted Comets try to take something from the meeting at the Oak Tree Arena.
