Rene Returns to action Tonight!

Comets skipper Rene Bach has recovered sufficiently from the illness that has plauged him for the past two days or so and will race for the Comets this evening in their crucial Premier League clash with the Ipswich Witches at Derwent Park.
This caused Rene to miss last night's 59-34 Premier League defeat at league leaders Somerset. Meanwhile, tonight's opponents are arguably the toughest side that the Comets have had to face in a Premier League fixture at Derwent Park so far this season.
Ipswich were tipped as the most likely title winners at the start of the season by the pundits of 'Speedway Star' magazine, however, in what has so far proved to be one of the most open Premier League campaigns for years, things have not been plain sailing for the Suffolk side.
Having dropped home points two days ago to Somerset the Witches will be out to make up that lost ground tonight so a big effort will be required from the Comets, who will have a new line-up this evening following the broken leg sustained by Nathan Greaves last Saturday and the return from injury of the long-serving Rusty Harrison.
The Witches have Redcar's Rafal Konopka as a guest at reserve for Stefan Nielsen, who is riding for Belle Vue this evening at Leicester.
Meanwhile, tonight the Comets will use Cradley's National League rider Matt Williamson at reserve in place of the injured Nicki Barrett.
With Kenneth Hansen now having a real 2015 average he will drop to reserve this evening while Kyle Howarth moves up to number one.
After early morning light rain the sun is now shining and a terrific match is in prospect. The teams will line up tonight as follows:
Workington ‘Thomas Armstrong' Comets
1 Kyle Howarth, 2 Rusty Harrison, 3 Rene Bach (captain), 4 Matthew Wethers, 5 Ricky Wells, 6 Matt Williamson (Guest for the injured Nicki Barrett), 7 Kenneth Hansen.
Ipswich ‘Sackers' Witches
1 Danny King, 2 Gino Manzares, 3 Nico Covatti, 4 Rider Replacement for the injured Cameron Heeps, 5 Rohan Tungate, 6 Rafal Konopka (Guest for the unavailable Stefan Nielsen), 7 Ritchie Hawkins (captain).
Tonight's referee is Mr. Graham Flint and the action gets underway at Derwent Park at 7:00pm.
