Workington will be represented by Kyle Howarth and Ricky Wells in this years Premier League Pairs, which takes place at Somerset's Oak Tree Arena this coming Friday at 7:00pm.
This meeting is always one of the most popular of the season, with the racing being of the highest quality, and it forms a perfect night for the fans coming just a day before the British Grand Prix at Cardiff, which is just over an hour away by road from Somerset.

The Comets duo (pictured above) have been drawn in Group B, which has a very much 'northern feel' to it as they are joined by Glasgow, Redcar and Berwick, with the fifth side in the group being home club Somerset, who will be one of the favourites to progress to the semi-finals on their own track.

Three of the other four pairings in the Comets group include former Comets riders: Richard Lawson (Glasgow), Josh Grajczonek (Somerset) and Kevin Doolan (Berwick).

Last year's winners Edinburgh will again be without Craig Cook as he will be at Cardiff preparing for his second successive appearance as the 'wild card' in the Grand Prix, so they are represented by Sam Masters (a former Somerset rider) and Kevin Wolbert. Masters was partnered to victory last year by fellow-Aussie Max Fricke.

The Comets have an excellent record in this competition - having iwon it six times; most recently in 2012, when it was won by Rene Bach and Adam Roynon.

Admission prices for the event, which features 23 races, are £20 for adults, £15 for concessions, £5 for under-16s and under-5s free.
