Tonight's scheduled Workington v Newcastle Premier League fixture has been postponed and will now take place at Derwent Park next Saturday evening, 18th July, at 7:00pm.
The decision to postpone this evening's meeting was made at 9:45am today when, having studied all available weather forecasts, it was clear that rain was due to hit Workington shortly after 4pm on every forecast and then stay for the rest of the evening.

With both Newcastle and ourselves being available next Saturday the sensible decision was made to postpone the fixture for a week and, by making an early decision, it avoided riders having to set off for tonight's meeting.

The Comets will next be in action tomorrow afternoon (3:00pm start) up at Glasgow for a Premier League fixture, where the Tigers will be without three of their riders; David Howe, Victor Palovaara and Nick Morris, who was injured last night while making a guest appearance for Somerset at the Oak Tree Arena.
