Returning Comet Mason Campton was able to get some practice laps under his belt this morning in a behind closed-doors practice session at Derwent Park ahead of tomorrow's season opener against Newcastle.
After taking to the track for the first time since October 2014 Mason described his return to Derwent Park as "Great" and said that he was "so happy" to be back there.

Having tested two new machines that he had built up earlier in the week, each of them fitted with an engine that he had sent over from Australia, he was very happy with how they both felt.

Mason arrived back in the UK last Saturday, so he was unable to get to Cumbria in time to take part in the Comets Official Press & Practice session that took place on the same day; and so he was delighted to get some laps in ahead of the Comets first fixture of the season.

This takes place tomorrow (Saturday) evening at Derwent Park (7pm start) when the Comets entertain the strongly-fancied Newcastle Diamonds in the first leg of the Ian Thomas Shield.
