For the third time in four seasons the Comets hopes of Knockout Cup success have been snuffed out by the Somerset Rebels.
The Rebels have certainly become the Comets bogey-team as far as the KO Cup goes as they ran out 98-82 aggregate winners after the second leg of their first round clash with the Comets at Derwent Park last night.
Having brought a 14-point lead with them from last week's home leg at the Oak Tree Arena, following their 52-38 victory, the Rebels did the double over the Comets by way of a 46-44 victory at Derwent Park - which was the Comets first home defeat since losing to Edinburgh in late September 2014.
