Comets v Sheffield Race-day Update!

It is all systems go for tonight's crunch clash at Derwent Park against the in-form Sheffield Tigers, who feature three former Comets in their line-up.
However, the Tigers have been hit by an injury to current British under-21 champion Josh Bates, who suffered a dislocated shoulder in a crash at Owlerton on Thursday night.

The Tigers will now operate Rider Replacement for Josh, which gives the option of an extra ride to Comets asset Kyle Howarth, French rider Dimitri Berge and the two reserves; Arhur Sissis and another ex-Comet Nathan Greaves.

As ever the Tigers are led by former Comet Simon Stead, who is the third former Workington rider in their side, and he is now back to his best following the serious leg and arm injuries that ended his season after just one month in 2015.

The Comets go into the meeting at full-strength, having hopefully recovered from the long drive North after last night's meeting at Plymouth and, with a dry, sunny day in prospect everything is in place for what promises to be a great night of speedway at Derwent Park, with all the action getting underway at 7:00pm.

The teams line up as follows:

1 Ricky Wells (c), 2 Rasmus Jensen, 3 Kenneth Hansen, 4 Mason Campton, 5 Claus Vissing, 6 Adam Roynon, 7 Matt Williamson.

1 Simon Stead (c), 2 Dimitri Berge, 3 Jason Garrity, 4 Rider Replacement for injured Josh Bates, 5 Kyle Howarth, 6 Arthur Sissis, 7 Nathan Greaves.

Referee: Stuart Wilson
