The Comets raced to their biggest win of the season so far in difficult conditions at Derwent Park last night when they ran out 58-34 winners over the Scunthorpe Scorpions in a Premier League fixture.
The Comets provided the first across the finish line in all fifteen heats, with every Workington rider recording at least one race win.
Kenneth Hansen (pictured above leading Ryan Douglas in heat 9) raced to a 12-point four-ride maximum, and set the fastest time of the season (62.7 seconds) in heat 3.
However, the biggest cheer of the night was reserved for locally-based National League guest Ryan Blacklock when he took the chequered flag in heat 14.
Ryan was standing in for Rasmus Jensen, who was representing Denmark in a European Pais event in Italy and no facility (guest or rider replacement) is granted for that competition.
