Comets second place Fours agony at Peterborough!

It was a case of so close but yet so far when after two days of pulsating action at the Peterborough Showground the Comets finished second to Plymouth in the Premier League Fours.
And, to make matters worse the Comets finished agonisingly just one point short of Plymouth's 30-point total.
Going into the tense final race both Plymouth and the Comets were locked on 27 points but a spectacular last to first move around turns one and two saw Brady Kurtz take the lead for the Devils while Kenneth Hansen found his route blocked by Peterborough's Ulrich Ostergaard.
But, by the time Kenneth had shaken off his fellow Dane it left very little time to catch the flying Kurtz and allowed the Devils camp to begin celebrating a famous victory.
Nevertheless, it was a tremendous achievement by the Comets who came from behind to pip Glasgow for the top spot in their semi-final the previous day as Kenneth Hansen took the chequered flag in the twelfth and final heat while Glasgow's Aaron Summers finished last after being passed by Somerset's Jake Allen on the last lap.
