Summer Promotion - All Adults in for £10 and all Kids in for a Quid tomorrow evening against Newcastle!
Tomorrow, Saturday 6th August, at 7:00pm the Workington Comets take to their Derwent Park circuit once again when they face the Newcastle Diamonds in what has all the makings of being another thrilling Premier League clash.

This also promises to be a fantastic value for money night for the supporters as the Workington management are holding a special ‘Summer Promotion' where, for this one night only, adult admission is cut to just £10.

In addition to that, the Comets ever-popular ‘Kids for a Quid' promotion is now in full swing, where it is just £1 for all children's admission to Workington Speedway for the duration of the School Summer Holidays.

“Hopefully, with this special offer on both adult and child admission, it will also tempt some more Newcastle supporters to make the journey over to Derwent Park this Saturday too,” said Comets owner Laura Morgan.

“If the meeting turns out to be anywhere near as exciting as last Sunday's clash with Peterborough, which went to a last race decider before the Comets came out on top, then the fans will certainly go home happy,” she added.

“That meeting was especially pleasing as we had a few first-timers in the stadium that night following our successful promotional appearance at the nearby Cockermouth Show and it certainly gave them a taste of just how much of an exciting night it can be supporting the Comets. Hopefully they were entertained enough to return this week, where entry is just £10 for adults.”

Saturday's clash with the Diamonds sees the second ever appearance at Derwent Park of the Newcastle number one; the up and coming British star, 18 year-old Robert Lambert, who last Saturday was a member of the British World Cup squad that finished second behind Poland in the World Cup Final at Manchester's new National Speedway Stadium at Belle Vue.

Following the Premier League fixture against the Diamonds on Saturday, there will be a six-heat Northern Junior League clash between the Workington and Newcastle youngsters to round off a bumper evening of speedway.

Then, on Sunday, at 3:00pm, the Comets are set to be in action once again as they head north to Glasgow's Ashfield Stadium, where they visit the Glasgow Tigers, who were the pre-season favourites to lift the Premier League Championship.
