Race-day Update - Comets v Newcastle (PL)

Tonight at 7:00pm Derwent Park hosts another potentially thrilling Premier League fixture when the Comets take on the highly-fancied Newcastle Diamonds, which is the subject of our special ‘Summer Promotion' where all adults are admitted for the reduced price of JUST £10 for this evening's meeting.
Additionally, our summer ‘Kids for a Quid' promotion is now in full swing so ALL children aged 5 to 15 inclusive are admitted for JUST £1 for the duration of the school summer holidays. Under-fives are admitted FREE of charge, as always.

Newcastle include one of Team GB's World Cup silver medal winners from last Saturday; Robert Lambert in their side. The 18-year-old teenage sensation, who also rides for parent club King's Lynn in the Elite League, occupies the number one spot in a Diamonds side that also includes Steve Worrall, and both he and Robert Lambert were the track reserves at last month's Cardiff GP – although neither rider actually got to take a ride.

With the Diamonds in-form skipper Ludvig Lindgren and Matej Kus also in their top five they have a very solid looking septet and it is clear why they are rated so strongly by many pundits.

Both the Comets and the Diamonds are at full-strength for this evening's clash where the Comets will be looking to repeat their 50-42 victory over their nearest rivals that they achieved back in April in their League Cup group meeting.

The forecast is for a dry evening and following their Premier League fixture the junior riders from each side will also be going head to head in a six-race Northern Junior League fixture.
