Comets part company with Roynon
Sat 06 May 2017 by Comets Press Office
The Workington Speedway management has released Adam Roynon following much deliberation and discussion.
In a bid to be as successful as we can this season the hard decision had to be made sooner rather than later.

The Barrow-born rider has by his own admission struggled with mechanical issues since the start of the year. Roynon, who rejoined the Comets in 2016 and was kept on for 2017, has found going particularly tough at Derwent Park.

Owner Laura Morgan said: "Adam approached me last week and made it clear that retiring was on his mind. We have been keeping an eye on Adam for the last few weeks and I am really very sad to let him go because he is a very likeable lad. But you fast learn that you cannot win the league on sentiment alone.”

The Comets management would like put on record their thanks to Adam for his dedication to the Comets and we look forward to welcoming him back later in the year for his testimonial meeting which they will fully support.

News on a replacement for Adam will follow in the next few days.
