The Comets head to Peterborough for what promises to be a tough SGB Championship fixture this evening with mixed injury news following Saturday evening's home victory over Ipswich.
Thomas Jorgensen (pictured above) has declared himself fit to ride following his heat 13 spill, which gave his left shoulder a big knock. However, reserve Rob Shuttleworth is ruled out of the meeting with concussion and a thumb injury.

The concussion means that Rob must sit out of racing for at least nine days, which will also rule him out of our league visit to Berwick this coming Saturday.

With Rob being on a two-point average the choice of reserve guests is very limited and, with so many meetings taking place today, riders and guests are in very short supply as team manager Tony Jackson explained:

"After spending almost three hours chasing guests and team managers yesterday we are grateful to Buxton's Tom Woolley for agreeing to step in as a guest for us at number seven for our visit to Peterborough.

"Rob's two-point average and the limitations on who you can use under the rules, plus of course the short notice we had, made it a difficult job to find someone.

"All two-point Championship riders were already racing and with six National League sides racing, some of which were also using guests, it made it even harder to find someone, but thankfully Tom was willing and able to step in and do a job for us.

“Chris Harris will be making his debut for the Panthers this evening and the addition of him to their side has certainly not made our task any easier - it's amazing how often teams seem to strengthen up just before we visit! - but at the end of the day he is just one rider out of seven and we will be going there looking to keep our winning run going if we can and, at the very least, aiming to come away from the match with something to show for our efforts!”

Following this evening's fixture at Peterborough the Comets are next in action away at Berwick this coming Saturday (3rd June) with a 7:00pm start, and there will be no home fixture that weekend.
