The Comets bring down the curtain on their 2017 campaign this evening when they travel up to Glasgow for what will be the final SGB Championship fixture of 2017.
Having been postponed and re-arranged several times so far this season the fixture will finally take place at Ashfield Stadium tonight starting at 7:30pm.
The weather forecast is for a dry day and it will be the first time that the Comets have ridden as a team under the Ashfield floodlights.
Both teams have been hit by injury and illness and the Tigers go into the match minus Nike Lunna, Tom Perry and Jack Smith while the Comets are missing Craig Cook (illness), Thomas Jorgensen (knee) and Matt Williamson (foot) as well as reserve Rob Shuttleworth.
For the Comets Ben Barker of Redcar replaces Craig Cook, Newcastle's former Comet Ashley Morris replaces Matt Williamson and Glasgow-based youngster Dale Lamb replaces Rob Shuttleworth; while the absence of Thomas Jorgensen will be covered by the Rider Replacement facility - with everyone except Ben Barker eligible to take a ride.
Comets team manager Tony Jackson said: "It has been a bit of a challenge to patch up the team for this fixture as, understandably, at this late stage of the season many riders are not available.
"Most of the overseas riders have left the UK while other riders have 'packed up' for the season, stripped down their machinery and sent their engines away for an end of season service; plus of course there are others who have simply had enough for the year and simply don't want to ride again in 2017.
"So, we are very grateful for the riders that have helped us out in our hour of need, as we always are of course!"
