Comets End of Season Award Winners!
Sat 04 Nov 2017 by Comets Press Office
Last night's successful End of Season 'Do' at the Trades Hall saw five different team members receive awards for 2017.
Skipper Craig Cook picked up two awards; one for the most Rider of the Night nominations throughout 2017 and the other was the Colin Dickinson Memorial Shield for the most points scored in heat 15 of all Championship matches throughout the season.

Mason Campton picked up the award for the Most Bonus Points, defeating last year's recipient, Matt Williamson, by a single point. However, Matt Williamson did not leave the venue empty handed as he picked up the award for the Most Improved Average for the second successive season.

Meanwhile, Ty Proctor collected the News & Star readers Rider of the Year Trophy following a poll on their website in the days leading up to the event while Thomas Jorgensen was the recipient of the Workington Speedway Trust's Rider of the Year award.

The trophy presentations were not just restricted to the riding personnel though; as Anthony Denham and his band of track staff were presented with the Ian Thomas Trophy for services to Workington Speedway.
