You know that the new speedway season is just around the corner when details of the Meet the Riders Evening and Press & Practice are confirmed!
The annual 'Meet the Riders & Management' Forum takes place this Friday, 23rd March, at 7:30pm in The Waverley Hotel, Workington; and this will be followed by the Comets official 'Press & Practice' at Derwent Park the next day.

As usual, Friday evening will give the Comets supporters an opportunity to meet the 2018 Comets team and ask any questions of the Riders and Management ahead of what promises to be an exciting season of league speedway in the eleven-team SGB Championship.

Six of the 2018 Comets will be in attendance; but missing will be Nicolai Klindt, who has a prior booking at Poole in their 70th Anniversary Celebration Meeting. But, with new local signings Dan Bewley and Kyle Bickley in attendance along with new skipper Ty Proctor, his fellow Aussie Mason Campton and the returning Danes Rene Bach and Rasmus Jensen there is sure to be plenty to talk about.

Saturday then sees the Workington Comets hold their Official Press & Practice session at Derwent Park to herald the start of the 2018 SGB Championship season.

The on track action at the ‘Press & Practice' will get underway shortly after 12 noon, following photographs and interviews with the media.

Spectators are encouraged to come along and get their first glimpse of the 2018 Comets in action, with the grandstand being open to the public from around 11:45am.

As per previous years, admission to press & practice is to be by way of a donation to a worthy cause, which this year will be in aid of the 'Speedway Riders' Benevolent Fund' – following the postponement of the Ben Fund Meeting that was due to take place at Peterborough last Sunday.

Supporters are reminded that if they are yet to purchase their Season Ticket for 2018 they will be on sale on Friday evening at the Meet the Riders Forum AND also during the afternoon of Press & Practice' – as will the popular books of tickets.
