Rene Bach returns to the Comets for 2018.
He started his UK career with Peterborough in 2009 as a short term replacement for Karol Zabik but was subsequently replaced by Kenneth Hansen, allowing Bach to return to Denmark to complete his studies.
In June that same year he returned to Britain, joining Newcastle as a replacement for Steve Boxall. He scored a 15 point maximum to help Denmark lift the World Under 21 Team Cup and he also became the Danish Under 21 Champion.
Having spent 2010 with Newcastle, where he attained an 8-point average, he returned to the Diamonds in 2011 but in April 2011 Rene suffered a broken leg, collarbone and rib damage in a match against Rye House and he spent the rest of the season on the sidelines.
When he was made surplus to the Diamonds requirements that winter he joined the Comets and has spent the past three seasons with the club, during which time he has become a fully-fledged Workington asset, having been purchased from Peterborough in the winter of 2013/2014 by the new Comets management.
Rene starts the 2018 season with a 7.53 average and will line up as the Comets' number one.
