Help & Support
If you've got any questions, this is the place to start.

Q

What can I buy from the online ticket office?
Tickets - that's why it's called an online ticket office!  Currently we offer single tickets or books of tickets (choose from either 3, 5 or 10 tickets per book) for home meetings at Derwent Park.
During the closed season, you can also buy season tickets for the year ahead.

Q

How do I use the online ticket sales system?
If you've never used the system before, click the "How It Works" option in the menu on the left.

Q

Do I need a PayPal account to buy online?
No - you don't need a PayPal account to use our online ticket office.  If you already have a PayPal account and wish to use this to make your purchases, then you'll have that option at the checkout stage.  Similarly, if you don't have a PayPal account but want to create one, you'll also be able to do that.
Alternatively, you can pay without a PayPal account by using your debit or credit card.

Q

What debit or credit cards do you accept?
We currently accept Mastercard, Visa (debit and credit), Visa Electron, Maestro and American Express cards.

Q

Do you need my postal address?
If you are purchasing season tickets or books of tickets, we will need your postal address.  You will be asked to provide this during the checkout process.  For standard single match tickets, we will not require an address.

Q

Is the online ticket office secure?
The online ticket office itself is hosted on a non-secure server, however this is just the "shop front" and no payments are processed on our server.  All payments are made through our payment processor, PayPal, and takes place on their fully secure servers.  We do not store or hold any payment card details on our servers at all.

Q

What is a "concession" ticket?
Concession tickets are available to people aged 16-17, students in full time education, and OAP's (supporters who are of State Pension age).  If you purchase a concession ticket, you will be required to provide proof of eligibility each time you arrive at the stadium.  This could be in the form of a photo ID or driving licence, passport, or student card.  If you are unable to prove your eligibility for concessionary rates, your ticket may be cancelled without refund.

Q

If I buy a ticket online, what happens next?
Once your payment has been authorised, you will receive an automatically-generated email receipt which details your order and provides a unique transaction reference number.  You can print this receipt for your records if you wish, but you do not need to bring it with you.  When you arrive at the stadium, you will be asked for the name in which the tickets were ordered and paid for.  We will be able to identify you from this information alone.  If you don't receive an email receipt, check your junk or spam folders incase it has been incorrectly identified by your email client.

Q

What happens if I buy tickets online but the meeting is postponed?
There are different procedures in place depending upon at what stage the meeting was postponed. These are explained below and apply ONLY to supporters who purchased their tickets ONLINE for the postponed or abandoned meeting.
If the meeting is postponed BEFORE THE START OF HEAT 1 then your admission will automatically become valid for the next single home league or cup meeting.
•  If you CAN attend the next single home league or cup meeting then no action is required on your part, and your admission will automatically be carried forward to the next home league or cup meeting.
•  If you CAN NOT attend the next single home league or cup meeting then your admission will be valid for any one single home league or cup meeting in the season. You must email dan@workingtoncomets.co within 48 hours of the postponement to advise which meeting you would like your admission(s) transferred to.
If the meeting is postponed BEFORE THE COMPLETION OF HEAT 10 then you will be entitled to reduced admission for the same number of tickets and ticket types for the next single home league or cup meeting.
•  If you CAN attend the next single home league or cup meeting then you will be entitled to purchase tickets at a reduced rate. The online ticket office will automatically offer the facility to purchase tickets at the reduced price. Tickets must be purchased before the online ticket office closes for the next home meeting.
•  If you CAN NOT attend the next single home league or cup meeting then you will be entitled to purchase the same number of tickets and ticket types for any one single home league or cup match this season at a reduced rate. You must email dan@workingtoncomets.co within 48 hours of the postponement to advise which meeting you would like your admission(s) transferred to. When the online ticket office opens in the week leading up to your chosen meeting, we will send you a payment request for the balance due. This payment must be made before the online ticket office closes for that particular meeting.
The actual reduction will be based upon the admission fee paid on the day of the abandonment and at which heat the meeting is abandoned. The readmission charge will be based on a reduction on normal admission of £1 for ADULTS for every heat not completed up to heat 10. For example, if the meeting is abandoned after heat 7, a discount of £3 will apply for adults (this being the difference for heats 8, 9 and 10). In this case, an adult readmission would be £10 (£13 standard price minus the £3 discount). Concession and child reductions are as per each club's policy.
If the meeting is postponed or abandoned AFTER THE COMPLETION OF HEAT 10 then your admission will be deemed as used, in line with standard British Speedway terms and conditions, and no discounts or refunds will be issued.

Q

I bought a ticket online but was unable to attend. Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately we are not able to refund any admission fees for unused tickets.  As with any event such as a football match or a live performance, it is your responsibility to ensure attendance.
